Kathy Bork What brought you to LCHS? The chance to maybe be teaching in the same district as my husband. What are the classes that you teach here? Studio Art, Pottery 1, Advanced Pottery, Computer Graphics, Drawing Sculpture How long have you been teaching? 28 years Where else have you taught? Carrol Kuemper, Spalding Catholic, MMC District and Cherokee Where did you go for college? Briar Cliff College What degree did you receive? B.A in Art Education What advice can you give to students you are and will be teaching? Enjoy what you do everyday, and be kind. Why did you choose this field? I love all the individualism that the arts can provide. It’s very expressive, exciting, challenging, and can even be therapeutic. What are some activities you enjoy outside of school? Interior designing, flowers, decorating, and sports. Who are your family members: My husband is Kellie Bork. Ashley Alons What brought you to LCHS? My family is in the area, and my fiance and his family. I also love freshman range. What are the classes that you teach here? Freshman English How long have you been teaching? This is year 4. Where else have you taught? My first job was teaching 8th grade at a middle school in Muscatine, Iowa. Last year, I taught at Woodbury Central. Where did you go for college? University of Northern Iowa and now Morningside for my Masters in Teaching and ESL. What degree did you receive? English Education with a 5-12 Reading Endorsement. What advice can you give to students you are and will be teaching? Stay on top of your work! And get involved. Make the most of the fast 4 years! Why did you choose this field? I’ve wanted to be a teacher since I was 5 years old! I want to be a positive influence, so teaching is a great fit. What are some activities you enjoy outside of school? I love to read, cook (not bake), craft, do crafts with my cricut, hang out with with family, friends, and my fur babies, garden, buy cool plants, and remodel my house. Who are your family? Kyan (husband), Mom & Dad, Andrew (23), Anna (18), Jax (4 month puppy), Mazzie and Bella (cats). Tifany Wright What brought you to LCHS? We moved to Le Mars 10 years ago. I started subbing and loved it. I loved the students and staff. It made me feel a part of the community. What are the classes that you teach here? Accounting 1, Accounting 2, Intro to Business, Computer Apps, Business Marketing, Business Law, and Consumer Econ. How long have you been teaching? This is my first year. Where did you go to college? Utah State University What degree did you receive? BS in Business Information Systems, Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) What advice can you give to students you are and will be teaching? Try! Also, it is okay to be wrong, but not trying at all is failing from the start. And…. do your own work! Why did you choose this field? I really love business. Then, when I started subbing, I realized how much I love the students and being a part of their lives, so I combined my two loves. What are some activities you enjoy outside of school? Home improvement, family time, and all things sports. Who are your familymembers? Husband, Ryan; Son, Kutter (in 10th grade); Daughters: Payton (in 8th grade), Maggie (in 5th grade); a dog, Wicket; two cats: Chemo and Sparkles. Danielle James What brought you to LCHS? I’ve always loved how much agriculture is in the NW Iowa area and absolutely love the community of Le Mars. Also, who could resist living in the ice cream capital of the world? What are the classes that you teach here? I teach all of the Agriculture related courses which is quite a variety! Some of them include Ag 1, Ag 2, Horticulture, Ag marketing, Survey of the Animal Industry, Agronomy, Ag Business, etc! How long have you been teaching? This is my first year. Where did you go for college? I went to Iowa State University, What degree did you receive? Agriculture ed/animal science. What advice can you give to students? Agriculture has many diverse sectors outside of just farming; there’s something in agriculture for nearly everyone so don’t be afraid to take an ag-related course! Why did you choose this field? I’ve always loved agriculture and was blessed to grow up immersed in the ag industry. In addition, I have a passion for teaching youth, so what’s better than combining the two? What are some activities you enjoy outside of school? Being outside, camping, cheering on the Cyclones, traveling, and running. Who are your familymembers?
